Welcome to Sancho PM
An introduction to pragmatic Product Management. Why this exists, who it's for, and what you'll find here.
Why Sancho PM?
There’s no shortage of Product Management content on the internet. Newsletters, courses, frameworks, certifications — the list goes on. So why create another one?
Because most of it is written for a world that doesn’t exist.
A world where you have dedicated research teams. Where leadership understands and values discovery. Where you have months to validate before building. Where “ship fast” means quarterly releases instead of weekly.
That’s not the world most of us work in.
The Sancho Panza approach
The name comes from Sancho Panza, the pragmatic squire of Don Quixote. While Quixote attacked windmills thinking they were giants, Sancho saw reality and moved forward.
Don Quixote represents all the theory, frameworks, and “best practices” that look great in blog posts but fall apart when you try to apply them on Monday morning.
Sancho Panza represents pragmatism, common sense, and what actually works in the real world.
What you’ll find here
Every piece of content on Sancho PM follows a simple principle: it should help you do your job better on Monday morning.
That means:
- Practical frameworks that work in resource-constrained environments
- Real-world examples from companies that aren’t FAANG
- Honest perspectives on what works and what doesn’t
- Actionable takeaways you can apply immediately
The 15 Pillars
At the core of Sancho PM are 15 principles that guide everything. Each one is structured as a priority: the first word always wins.
- Done over Perfect
- Context over Framework
- Decide over Dashboard
- Talk over Document
- And 10 more…
These aren’t rules. They’re lenses to help you cut through the noise and make better decisions.
Who this is for
Sancho PM is for Product Managers who work in the real world:
- Fintechs trying to navigate regulation while moving fast
- E-commerce platforms competing on tight margins
- B2B SaaS companies building products for actual businesses
- Startups where resources are limited and stakes are high
If you’ve ever felt that mainstream advice doesn’t apply to your situation, you’re in the right place.
